Six Things You Need to Know When Thinking About Making The Move To Cape Coral!

May 3, 2016

1. Water Lovers, UNITE!

Cape Coral sits on Florida's stunning Gulf Coast. It is not a "cape" but a peninsula. The Caloosahatchee river runs along the east and southern sides. There are also 400 miles of canals in Cape Coral!! Thats right, Venice, Italy has nothing on us! Most of our canals were manmade and the miles of freshwater canals actually outnumber the saltwater ones.

With all the water here there is obviously no shortage of water related activities! You will find boat ramps located throughout the city for all your boating needs as well as some fantastic fishing and water sports!

Another huge benefit to all these canals is the waterfront living! You can easily hop on your boat and cruise the canals or head out to the Gulf of Mexico via Matlacha Pass or the Caloosahatchee River.

2. We Don't Have Winter, We Have Bragging Season!

With an average of 10 days a year that are not sunny and winter highs averaging the upper 70s to mid 80s its's no wonder so many northerners call it home for part of the year! Here they are known as the snow birds because like birds they migrate! Luckily for us there is enough sunshine here for everyone!

3. Children are the heart of our community

If you are planning on starting or raising a family in Cape Coral you have made the right choice! Cape Coral is ranked as one of the safest cities in the country in 2016 according to NICHE study. We have a great school system that utilizes the "Choice Model" meaning, as long as you have a local address you can choose which school you want to send your children to. We also offer some of the best rated charter schools in the state of Florida. If your children like to stay active there is no shortage of youth sports and extracurricular activities to choose from. It is all around a wonderful place for families to call home.

4. Cape Coral Remembers And Honors Our Military

Cape Coral is home to the Southwest Florida Military Museum and Library. Here you can find 34,000 square feet of military history. With the extensive library housing books, letters and other personal correspondence. At the museum you can find uniforms, photos, vehicles, weapons, medals as well as plenty other memorabilia.

5. TEE Time!

As many of you know Florida is knows for it's many choices in golf courses. Cape Coral is home to 4 of them including some amazing golf communities. Each one is a bit different and if you don't find what your looking for here just outside of Cape Coral you are sure to find a couple you will love!

6. Foodie's Paridise

Cape Coral is home to a lot of award winning dining options. Right on the Gulf of Mexico, fresh seafood is never in short supply. Cole Fired Pizza more your thing? We have that too. As well as some amazing authentic greek and southern eateries. The food options are virtually endless here in Cape Coral. Another plus, most restaurants come with a view!

There you have it. Now the real question... What are you waiting for!!?
